It is essential to intensively train and strengthen young athletes that are promising and talented in an excellent environment in order to improve Japan's performances in international competitions. Making the best use of the functions provided by the AJINOMOTO NATIONAL TRAINING CENTER as a model program to realize this, the JOC and sports associations are working together to discover young athletes that have remarkable talent and to train top athletes who can achieve good results in international competitions such as the Olympic Games in the future under a consistent training system provided by sports associations.
Through the development of the intellectual capacities and human qualities of athletes in collaboration with regional educational institutions mainly in Kita City, outstanding human resources are being developed that can uphold Japan's future and contribute to its social development. This vision is being implemented for prospective athletes over a period of six years from the first year of junior high school to the third year of senior high school in wrestling, table tennis and fencing.
